Double Your Productivity – A Case Study on Being a Paperless Agent

Double Your Production and Service More Clients as a Paperless Real Estate Agent

Adopting the right technologies to enhance your real estate career is important and there are a lot of vendors out there touting their karen salmonproduct as the latest and greatest.

Not getting SOS or Shiny Object Syndrome is important, as a busy REALTOR® you should be focusing on the tech that is going to help improve the quality of your business and ultimately the quality of your life.

The Association of Information and Image Management (AIIM) recently published an article which according to their respondents, they felt that going completely paperless would increase their productivity by 29.7-35.4%.

We know it’s difficult to add those numbers to your real estate business ‘productivity’ so let’s just assume that you could potentially earn upwards of 35% more in gross commission income by being completely paperless within your business. That sounds a little more enticing.

Recently we interviewed Calgary and Okotoks REALTOR® and repree power user, Karen Salmon about her experience as a paperless agent and how her productivity has doubled year over year, 2014-2015.

What challenges in your business or industry influenced you to look for a solution?

I wanted to make life easier for my clients, I didn’t want them to have to adjust their schedules to meet me just to sign documents.

Did you have a previous solution that could no longer meet your company’s needs? If so, how did your needs change?

For years I used Real Estate Dashboard. RED was not a mobile solution where the client could sign without having to be in front of me. I wanted to allow my clients greater ability to choose how, where and when they were to sign documents.

What criteria did you have in mind for a solution?

Really, it was ease of use and mobility. Was the product going to be easy to pick up and learn and was it going to be fully accessible from every device that I use from wherever I am.

How did you search for a solution to your problem?

I was actually introduced to repree by a colleague that had been using it for some time. I had looked at other solutions but my colleague seemed really happy with the functionality and so I decided to give it a try.

Why did you choose our firm over our competitors?

There were a number of reasons I chose repree as my transaction management software, namely, you are local and in my market, the security features were key, you are endorsed by AREA and the office presentation given by your CEO was excellent.

Did you encounter any challenges implementing our solution, and how did you surmount them?

Clients with iPhones encounter issues at times during signing, it’s nothing major and easily worked around. I have found that working with the Community Design Committee has helped to bring these issues to the forefront and to make sure they are addressed and fixed

What benefits have you experienced from working with us?What specific results have you seen from implementing our solution?

My clients have more time with their family and less time with me. Getting documents signed in a timely and efficient manner. I get more time with my family, being that I am not having to run from one end of the city to the other on a constant basis. My level of production has literally doubled in the last 12 months and my client experience has been significantly enhanced.

What business processes does our solution enhance? Does it save you time or money?

The transaction management is key, I no longer have to worry if I have all of the documents together in one file or if they have been sent to my conveyancing department. I can see when emails were sent and what documents were sent with them. I feel that it saves both time and money, it makes us(Agents) look professional and shows that we are keeping in touch with technologies that will make the transaction easier and more efficient.
